It is a pleasure to welcome you to the Golden Triangle Economic Development Council (GTEDC) web
site.The GTEDC is a 501 © 6 corporation dedicated to economic development in the Golden Triangle region of south Arkansas.
The Council is working to promote its goals by using a regional approach to economic development. The Golden Triangle region is the first in Arkansas to be recognized as an Arkansas Community of Excellence (ACE) region by the Arkansas Department of Economic Development. The five city members of the GTEDC are all ACE communities.
The GTEDC helps coordinate efforts on a variety of critical issues for south Arkansas. The Board of Directors is composed of citizens from each of the five member communities and is active in promoting the goals of the Council. With a current membership of approximately 150, the Council is strong and represents virtually every segment of the region.
The Golden Triangle region is home to a diversified business and industry base with a total population of 100,000 and a workforce of 45,000. In addition, the region is home to South Arkansas Community College, SAU Tech, and Southern Arkansas University. Citizens in the region can earn associate, bachelors, and master’s degrees in a variety of fields. Business and industry located in the region has a ready supply of qualified postsecondary graduates from which to recruit for their enterprises.
